German-Interview zu „Draw a Dream“ mit Hauptdarsteller Nicholas Downs.
Interviewdatum: 03. Februar 2015.
Interviewer: Dewey Darko.

6 Fragen an Nicholas Downs zum Kurzfilm „Draw a Dream“.

OBZ: Worum geht in den Film?

DOWNS:Dylan is a painter who discovers that his dreams control a certain woman's fate. While he tries to break the connection between them, a beautiful relationship is born.

OBZ: Erzähl uns bitte was über die Figur die du spielst?

DOWNS: Dylan is an artist, a painter, who is having these very vivid dreams about a woman he’s never even met before. He can’t seem to understand why he’s having them or who she is. But every time he does have one of his dreams about her and then goes to the place where his dream took place she is there. After realizing he’s putting her in danger with his dreams he does everything he can to save her.

OBZ: Im Film wirkst du erwachsener, nie sahst du besser aus. Wie viel von dir selbst spiegelt sich in deiner Rolle wieder?

DOWNS: As artists we can relate to all art forms. So as an actor it was very natural for me to play a painter. I liked the existentialism of this project and the subtle fantasy element of how my dreams were controlling someone else physically. I liked playing someone slightly older looking as well as it helps to open more acting opportunities for me.

OBZ: Wie waren die Reaktionen auf den Kurzfilm?

DOWNS:The screenings I’ve been to where the film has played the reactions have been great. People seem to love the idea of the film and cinematography is beautiful.

OBZ: Das Thema des Films liefert durchaus Stoff für eine Langfilmfassung. Könntest du dir einen ganzen Spielfilm durchaus vorstellen?

DOWNS: It works really well as a short but I could see it being a full length feature. I think we could learn more about the female character, Anna, in a feature length film and her background.

OBZ: Wo kann man den Film sehen? Where can you see the movie?

DOWNS:Right now the film is only showing in film festivals. Hopefully it will be available to the public soon. If you there are any German film festivals inserted let me know!
